Resumed free trade agreement (FTA) negotiations between EU and Malaysia;

potential hurdles and gains from the Swedish perspective

As was recently announced, the EU and Malaysia has resumed negotiations on a free trade agreement (FTA). What will be the process going forward; what are the main hurdles, what potential gains could be made and how can you and your companies lobby your priorities? Do not miss out on the opportunity to update yourself on the implications of an agreement, and take the chance to gain further insight. Following the talk there will be an interactive session, where participants can ask questions and raise important issues that Sweden should bring to the negotiation table!

Robert Lejon, the deputy head of mission at the Swedish Embassy in Malaysia will join us on the 27th of February for a special session on the FTA, how the EU negotiates and what Swedens main trade policy priorities are. Robert has extensive experience of Swedish and EU trade policy having previously served at the National Board of Trade Sweden, as chief coordinator for the EU-Canada negotiations, the EU-US negotiations at the Ministry for Foreign Affairs and as private secretary to the Director General for Trade at the Trade Ministers office.
